From the owner, Michael Scott Novilla:
I enjoyed meeting and working with Judy and Casey on their multi-cultural St Pete wedding, a sweet, smart, fun couple from Gainesville; their families originating in Vietnam and Ireland. Two lovely countries, with long, complex histories, full of unique customs, delicious foods, and proud cultures. I’ve been lucky enough to visit both, most recently spending 90 days in Vietnam, and find their romantic match-up, perfectly delightful! They added their own flavor and personalities into NOVA 535, creating a warm, welcoming, fabulous multi-cultural St. Pete wedding ceremony and reception! I’m honored for their trust in Team NOVA 535! So let’s raise our glasses and toast to their health and happiness, with a hearty Cheers, Sláinte and Một hai ba dzô!!
Colorful Multi-Cultural St Pete Wedding
One of NOVA 535’s best features is that any style of wedding works in the “blank slate” event space, from a traditional and classic style wedding to this colorful multi-cultural St. Pete wedding.
Casey and Judy knew that downtown St. Pete was a must for the wedding location, so the hunt for a venue they loved began.
“Our family is still in the area, and we actually started dating in St. Pete during high school,” the bride shared.
Finding the perfect St. Pete wedding venue was a challenge for the Gainesville couple until they came across NOVA 535. They didn’t want anything cookie cutter, therefore customization was key.
“Though hotel venues are beautiful, we thought they lacked in personality. NOVA 535 was a great place for us to inject our own personality into it,” Judy beamed. “It was really important for us to also customize our wedding to our personalities.”
When it came to their color palette, the choices were easy: the bride and groom’s favorite colors!
“Blue was chosen because it is my favorite color and the color of my sapphire engagement ring. Purple, because it is Casey’s favorite color. Finally, red and gold for the Vietnamese New Year,” the bride shared.
The result, their multi-cultural St. Pete wedding became a lovely combination that was a flourish of festive and vibrant hues!
The NOVA 535 Experience:
One of the most important things to Casey and Judy was having a full bar. NOVA 535 made sure that all of the couple’s guests stayed “hydrated.”
“One side is Vietnamese, the other is Irish-American. Both families are a bunch of fun hooligans who love their drinks,” the bride joked. “Everyone at NOVA was amazing. The bartenders were sweet, the owner, Mike, was attentive, and our wedding planning, Ruby, was a superstar.”
