From the Owner Michael S. Novilla:
Not only are Kara and Christopher deeply in love, they are such an extraordinarily delightful couple. I mean just look at how spectacular these photos of this St. Petersburg Florida wedding by Marc Edwards Photographs are. WOW!! Planner Claudia from Event Design and Florist Northside Florist created a gorgeous, jaw-dropping atmosphere here at my historic wedding and event venue NOVA 535. You literally thought you just stepped out of a time machine back into the 1920’s.
The food is always delicious from Delectables Fine Catering and Kara and Chris hired the wonderful Pinellas String Quartet for their ceremony and the awesome band The Hit Factory to keep our dance floor polished and in full swing all night long. Guests were delivered and returned safely by the Party Bus Tampa and people loved, as always, the Photo Booth from my pals at Get the Picture. I was told that Hair & Makeup was by the pros Gigi, Jewels and Kat at Retro Salon Studios and as you can see for yourself, everyone looked spectacular.
Gatsby himself would have paused, smiled and toasted this crowd! “Can’t repeat the past?…Why of course you can!” ― F. Scott Fitzgerald, The Great Gatsby

How would you describe your theme? What made you choose it?
The theme of the reception was classic 1920’s. We choose this theme for multiple reasons: the beauty of the era with beautiful colors and exuberance, the era was noted as exciting and the music.
What was/were the deciding factor(s) for choosing NOVA 535?
Once we saw NOVA 535, there was no other choice for our reception; we even picked a date based on availability. NOVA 535 offered everything we wanted: a classic bar, décor that any 1920’s era lovers would appreciate and mostly a warm feeling. At NOVA 535 you have a large party space, but you automatically feel comfortable and at home.
Then, there were those staircases! I immediately had a vision of our wonderful wedding party entering on either side and standing on the stairs as we made our entrance.
The outside was another added benefit, allowing for guests to have a separate cocktail hour while the bridal party and immediate family had a chance to experience the amazing reception area.
The reception area was amazing. My mom and aunt had worked so hard that I couldn’t help but cry when I saw the room.
What was one of the most memorable moments from your wedding day?
My new husband ended the night by singing Born to Be My Baby to me on stage. His hobby for 10+ years has been playing drums in the band. This eight piece band played, while Chris came to the front to sing to me. Between that, his vows and the way he gazed into my eyes during my vows, I could not imagine feeling any more love then I did that day.
