From the owner Michael S. Novilla: We were so delighted that Glenne and Jordan had chosen NOVA 535 for their wedding reception! They were another shining example of our wonderful, unique, and lovely couples that find and appreciate NOVA for what we strive to be; that place in your heart that allows you to feel warm and welcome, comfortable and at peace with yourself and those loved ones you’ve gathered together to share such a joyous occasion as your marriage commitment. Congratulations to Jordan and Glenne and a big THANKS from TEAM NOVA!
Glenne and Jordan’s downtown St. Pete Asian wedding at modernized, historic wedding and event venue NOVA 535 reflected the bride and groom’s strong traditions of family and culture.
The bride was born and raised in the Philippines and wanted to incorporate her vibrant heritage into her St. Petersburg wedding.
“The Filipino wedding rituals that we included in our wedding ceremony made our day truly unique with the veil, cord and arrhae (unity coins). The ‘Barong Tagalog’ suits that the groom and groomsmen wore, were made of pineapple fiber and all custom tailored from the Philippines. It was something unique to a Filipino wedding and our American friends loved it.”
The Palm Harbor couple searched for an intimate and romantic downtown St. Pete wedding venue with brick walls and an outdoor space.
“NOVA 535 was a complete package. The bamboo courtyard and the brick walls were exceptional!” the bride beamed. “From the day that we had our tour up to our wedding day, NOVA 535 never disappointed us. We were so amazed about how everything turned out!”
The attention to detail in the decor added to the modern elegance of the wedding venue’s contemporary art. The dark brick walls created the perfect backdrop for the custom monogram GOBO light featuring the couple’s name. How would you describe your theme?
Traditional/Romantic Filipino
What were your colors?
Blue is my favorite color but I wanted something different, which is why I chose the dusty shade and added peach for a feminine touch. The Proposal:
We planned a trip to Gatlinburg, Tennessee. It was the morning of November 22nd, and we were up early to hike Laurel Falls Trail in the Great Smoky Mountains.
It happened so fast. My full attention was at the Falls when all of the sudden Jordan started to kneel. He was saying something, but I could barely hear him. I asked him if he could repeat what he said, but he was already emotional; his eyes were teary and then he grabbed something from his pocket. I was still clueless on what was going on, and then he asked me very clearly, “Will you marry me?” I was crying when I said, “YES!”What did you look for in a wedding venue?
We wanted something intimate and romantic. NOVA 535 was a complete package. The bamboo courtyard and the brick walls were exceptional! From the day that we had our tour up to our wedding day, they never disappointed us. Ruby was our day-of coordinator and she did an awesome job. All the staff members were very professional. We were so amazed about how everything turned
