Emily and Greg’s wedding day at NOVA 535 in downtown St. Petersburg was a dream come true. The couple’s choice of venue seamlessly combined historic charm with modern aesthetics, offering a canvas for their design to come to life. NOVA’s exposed brick interiors spoke of bygone eras, while its modern industrial origins added a touch of sophistication. The result was a celebration that perfectly captured the essence of their romance.
The Tampa couple hosted their wedding weekend in the bustling downtown St. Pete as most of their guests were from out-of-town, and they wanted a venue convenient to hotels, beaches, and restaurants.
The bride and groom began their celebration with a first look at the venue’s intimate bamboo courtyard. After an emotional private vow exchange, Emily and Greg retreated to the upstairs bridal suite while their 120 guests arrived for the nuptials.
The pair exchanged vows in the serene courtyard against the backdrop of towering bamboo and string lighting while gold chiavari chair rentals elegantly lined the Herringbone patterned brick courtyard. The bride’s uncle officiated the ceremony, which was adorned with delicate white and ivory florals surrounded with lush greenery that cascaded down the wooden arch.
“Our wedding theme was a mix of modern and romantic. We had such a beautiful venue, and we wanted to keep our design simple and clean,” Emily revealed. “Our colors were very simple: neutrals, white, gold, black, and greenery.”
As guests proceeded upstairs for cocktail hour, Emily and Greg’s custom neon sign was placed against a lush greenery wall, which made for the perfect photo opportunity. A signature cocktail inspired by the couple’s cat, Gru, was served as family and friends awaited the newlywed’s grand entrance.
The reception began downstairs, set against the venue’s original exposed brick walls with exposed beamed ceilings. The interior lighting created a romantic ambiance, while a mix of high and low centerpieces and gold decor created an elegant atmosphere.
“We chose NOVA 535 specifically because they brought our vision to life, and it itself did not require a ton of extra decor. It’s beautiful on its own!” the bride gushed. “NOVA is a modern industrial space with both indoor and outdoor space to be able to have both our ceremony and reception there.”
