Team Novaween He11even at historic DTSP venue NOVA 535, in beautiful downtown St. Pete, Florida

Friday October 20, 2017 brought our annual Halloween Costume Party Novaween He11even once again to historic DTSP venue NOVA 535;. Our doors opened at 9:00 pm and we ended this always unpredictably wild party to a close at 3:00 am. Those 6 hours are what you, our guests, got to enjoy. But the process of creating and producing this most fun of events took weeks and months, by an entire team of wonderfully talented people. Team Novaween He11even. Here is their story, and many incredible photos from this process and evening. The remainder of the photos will be found in the next few upcoming blogs, so be patient and enjoy! Flyer graphics and designs are usually started by me, Michael S. Novilla, with some terribly drawn initial concept, then the always delightful Melissa Caban of Caban Graphics translates my visions into a gorgeous, final product.

Bar team NOVA 535 was represented by, left to right, Natalie Gennaro, Miss Allyson “Everyone Wants a Slice” Olaniel and my fellow Entrepreneur Andreas Neuart, of Downtown Crawlers.

Pictured below are Lisa Bailey and Justin Rawlings, two of Team NOVA 535’s 5-Star Bartenders! Upstairs in our VIP lair was the beautiful Miss Charlotte (unfortunately not pictured) .

A most important component of any great event is the love and support of its guests and advocates. Novaween started years before NOVA 535 opened in 2008, with the 1st official Novaween held here on October 31, 2007. Originally formed from earlier house parties, decades past. Below are some of the core fans and friends. As always THANK YOU ALL for your love and support!

I’m pictured above with my better looking, younger brother Chris Novilla, who everyone – guests and team members alike – adore. Chris works tirelessly to help ensure that our guests’ experiences are always 5-Star! Love you brother! Speaking of brother, mine from another mother, Chuck Taylor of Production Source, who designed and built NOVA’s amazing sound and lighting system. Chuck provides all our staging needs. Electrician Jim Walker and lovely wife Carol, (pictured below) were also in the house. Jim has been instrumental in the design and construction, and continuous improvement of everything electrical here at NOVA. Love you Jim-Bo! A special shout out to my amazing biz partner Mike MItchell for all his 5-Star help. Ruby Thomas our Venue Manager, was as always, super helpful with decorating, etc. And much love to my super Nurse Julie, pictured below next to Chris. Love you ALL! 

Our fantastic check in team was, once again, Jeff “Insight Consulting” Sassano and Kathi “Hat-a-Tude” Harris. Bravo!Stilt Walker extraordinaire Holly Hasty, with BalloonsRCool.com, kept us all looking skyward and smiling all night!

Our talented and stunning gogo dancers for Novaween He11even were Emily Beck, Anye Cole, Stevie Mistin and Riquette Ramsey! Wowouch!!

Corine Mua of Corine Cosmetics gave me the look I was searching for, “Dead Hef”. Funny thing was that many people didn’t recognize me at first look, including myself during make-up. Excellent work Corrine! Below I’m with the always spectacularly devilish Mayven Missbehavin and the gorgeous GoGo dancer Anye’ Cole. Hef would be most proud! Maven we all love you!!

Below is gorgeous Anye Cole and scorching hot Riquette Ramsey, with the sexy black and red striped leggings, enjoying a moment of collective snuggly hotness!

Psychic Readings by Debra provided our guests a peek into their (possible) futures!

Delicious, hot food was offered by Urban Brew and BBQ via Urban Restaurants Group, owned by local Entrepreneur Andy Salyards. Andy is pictured below with me, Dead Hef, to your right. Chef Murray Clements typically handles our food but suffered a terrible cut to his hand; we send our love to Chef Murray for a fast and full recovery! 

Making it impossible not to look up, were the spellbinding aerialists, including founder of the Aerial Dragons Kaley Gay, and dancer Riquette Ramsey, who sent chills down everyone’s spine! The talent that these performers have developed over the years is mesmerizing and they both are such a delight to watch.

Right after the costume contest, NOVAween veteran, Mayven Missbehavin heated us all up with her hot Hot HOT fire performance! Plus we just can’t keep her off the lyra rings either! Not that ANYONE would want to!     

Our unique and historic event space, NOVA 535, hosts an annual Halloween extravaganza, and 2017 marked the He11eventh anniversary of this memorable spooky soiree. Thanks for making it our best yet! Please keep NOVA 535 in mind for 5-star weddings, receptions, holiday parties and film shoots. We’re rated #1 for so many reasons; mainly because we focus on making sure YOU all have an amazing 5-Star experience here!

Mr. Reliable “Batman” is here helping to keep things running smoothly, thanks Batman! 

Our favorite mermaid is the smart, gorgeous Melissa Nguyen, Team NOVA 535’s “Data Ninja” who keeps everything behind the scenes organized and accurate. Of course it’s such a treat when she favors us with her lovely presence. A shout out to Mc. B’s Men’s Clothing at 1045 Central Avenue, for my amazing white jacket and shoes; gents check this place out!

Tara was our “Super Human” handling fabulously the bar management for the evening! Thanks Tara, you truly are SUPER!

Our fabulous musical entertainment, and hosting of the Costume Contest, was provided once again by my long time pals and fellow Entrepreneurs Doug “DJ Fresh” Hensel and Mr. Sexy Face Mike “DJ Ich” Rich.  Love these two amazing humans! 

DJ Ich and DJ FRESH played the best dance music all night that kept the party going! Then DJ Fresh (the official DJ of The Tampa Bay Rays) descended into the madness and hosted the costume contest which included four costume categories: sexiest, scariest, best group or couple and most creative. The crowd was excited to play a part in judging and all together they chose well-deserving winners. The champ of each category received a premium bottle of liquor and a really nice gift card to one of our favorite restaurants The Mill, here in DTSP. Thanks Fresh! NOVAween He11even featured, once again, Zoo Studios, who provided incredible 3D effects that were absolutely thrilling! At first glance the 3 paintings on the south wall may have been still. Then they’d morph, changing shapes, and frames, and even killing each other. Haunted Mansion 2017!! Wait for the video, as still photography just doesn’t work here. 

Don’t be upset that Novaween has passed this year – that doesn’t mean that the fun has stopped! Join us for Nova Noel 10 on Thursday, December 28, 2017.
