When the delightful Melissa Cancio and her fabulous hubby Michael, owners of My Memories that Matter, (their local Event planning and Multimedia Design company) swung by downtown St. Pete venue NOVA 535 to say hello, little did I know it’d end up in a fabulous event featuring pink martinis and a fashion show. They were visiting NOVA to introduce me to the lovely Gina Kravitz, the Executive Director of Susan G. Komen Florida Suncoast. We talked and toured NOVA and agreed to all work together, each of us adding our value and skills towards helping ladies with and survivors of breast cancer. Fast forward several weeks to Tuesday November 10, 2015 and welcome to our Pink Martini Fashion Show….and here come the ladies now….Celebrating Survival Fashionably Downtown St. Pete!
Tonight’s fundraiser was built around a fashion show from the delightful designer Sandra Gray, aka Miss Sandra Fashion offering her Sandra Gray Originals.
Sandra is famous for her work with WWE. Learning more about her from her website, “ I am a self taught seamstress. I started messing around with a sewing machine when I was 14 years old, not knowing it would turn into a lifelong passion and career. I went from making doll clothes in craft shows, to sewing prom dresses and bridal gowns… I eventually landed a job with WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment), making performance gear for professional wrestlers and many of their most famous superstars. This job opened up many opportunities for me along the way, such as traveling the U.S. and internationally, and appearing on the hit E! television reality series “Total Divas” which introduced me to a wider audience while allowing me to be myself just doing what I love.”Â
Sandra created custom outfits for tonight’s fashion models, the ladies who have survived (and thrived!!) the dreaded breast cancer. Bravo to you Sandra (center above with white blouse and black skirt) and of course to our beautiful fashion models! Ladies, here’s to YOU!
The Pink Martini fundraiser was emceed by the delightful Linda Hurtado, long time ABC Action News anchor, above left. Thanks Linda, excellent job tonight! Great meeting you.
Of course there are many MANY people helping, assisting and working behind the scenes, offering their talents, time and positive energies towards worthy causes, tonight we want to THANK YOU ALL for your hard work!
A SPECIAL THANK YOU to Gina, Nicole and Hampton, Angel and Fred, and thanks Mazzaro’s for the delicious catering, and Tito’s for their amazing Vodka!

All of NOVA 535’s photos are below, please keep in mind that they were taken by me, guy with a great camera and some basic editing skills, nowhere near as skilled as a professional photographer. Those professional photos are forthcoming. These are from the perspective of the owner, me, Michael S. Novilla, a native and blogger of beautiful downtown St. Pete, Florida.
