FRANCESCO
April 30 - July 6, 2009
Gracious winner of the 2008 [SOLO] Painting Award, artist Francesco wowed visitors with his vibrant and intensely passionate work and was pleasantly surprised by the number of buyers who remembered his work from the show one year before.
Francesco's first solo show at gorgeous NOVA 535 opens on Thursday April 30th at 7pm with hip global music, delicious Hors d'oeuvres and of course Francesco himself. Several spectacular massive pieces will help anchor this world-class art show.
RE: AGE
March 19 - April 27, 2009
Youth is fleeting, especially as a creative individual. For this show, we ask a handpicked group of young artists to reflect upon their creative progress to date, and using this moment of self-reflection, to envision the artist they will be 50 years in the future. The show includes works by Heather Dykstra, Jean Saavedra, Victoria Topor, Cecilia Lueza, Kevin Margitch, Erik Jones, Ryan Prado and Daniel Williams among others.
Presented by Bessie Art Productions – made up of co-curators Nessie Fernandez and Becca Nelson – the show includes new and previously created print work, photography, and apparel items by Brandon Dunlap, Chris Parks, Daniel Williams, Joel Cook, Nick Gomez, Bask, Pat Fatica, Andrew Spear, SmileMaker, Mike DeLach, Erik Jones, Heather Dykstra and Melisa Taylor.

COMING INTO FOCUS
July 16 - September 6, 2008
Coming Into Focus takes a back-to-basics approach with photographic still lifes, landscapes and portraits where composition and attention to detail are emphasized over edgy effects hosted by filmmaker/new media artist & professor Dana Plays, who presents several of her own works, like the Archival Extract Series (2008) and Nuclear Family (2002), as well as segments of early films & current works-in-process. Plays' students also screen works like Shook by Necat Akman, Chrysalis by Kenisha Walsh, loneliness (girl) by Allison Koehler, and The Note by Kathleen Hoffheimer. Coming into Focus Art Show
WUJCIK, Theo & GIROUX, Jay
May 3 - July 15, 2008 Theo Wujcik & Jay Giroux have joined creative forces and this unexpected marriage of old-guard & new finds perfect housing in NOVA 535’s. Wujcik’s latest endeavors, a series of large-scale paintings inspired by two very distinct modern phenomena: the aesthetic force of the Asian Invasion and the undeniable impact of global warming… in no particular order. Older may be wiser, but not necessarily as adventurous… Jay Giroux, the obvious heir to Wujcik’s throne as avant-garde Tampa Bay pioneer, will debut a series of original works alongside the grand master.
